Salem’s Holiday Parade Delights Children and Adults SALEM, NY Jay and Lynn Kerr of the Fort Salem Theater judged the best floats from the grandstand in front of Proudfit Hall. First prize went to the Winslow Family Hard Knock Hill Kennel; second prize to the Sullivan Family Willy Wonka Float; and third prize to the First United Presbyterian Church of Salem.
Fred and Noreen Russo sold hot chocolate and cider donuts donated by Gardenworks and Reggie’s Veggies to benefit the Mike Keyes Salem/Shushan Fuel Fund, which helps families with heating bills. The Chamber wishes to thank all those who participated in this community event. This volunteer effort would have been impossible without the contributions of so many local businesses, individuals, families, volunteer firefighters and organizations. Raffle to Benefit Mike Keyes SALEM, NY –The Salem Area Chamber of Commerce will raffle a giant teddy bear this holiday season. Tickets are $1.00 and all proceeds will benefit the Mike Keyes Salem/Shushan Fuel Fund which helps families who need help with heating costs. Tickets can be purchased at Glens Falls National Bank, Jackson Traders, Trip’s of Shushan, Laura’s Garden and other local businesses. The drawing takes place Friday, December 18. For those wanting a sneak peak, the bear will travel to the following businesses before the raffle: First United Presbyterian Church, Trip’s, Laura’s Garden, Jackson Traders, Glens Falls National Bank, The Artisans Guild and TD Bank.
